Welcome Letter

Dear Friends,                                                                         January, 2010

Welcome to Greenbush Soccer. It is my honor and privilege to serve the club as president this year. On March 23, 2010 our club will begin its 29th year as a Not-for Profit Corporation. Our club has had many great leaders over the years. A few of our founding leaders continue to actively serve the club today. I remain forever thankful for their steady guidance. We are fortunate to have them. 

If you found this letter you already noticed a few changes we are making this year. Our website will be a one stop resource for everyone to stay in touch with the happenings in and around the club and league. Features will continue to be added especially as we launch the improved site this year. Providing an enjoyable, child safe, user friendly website was my number one goal when I became president. I hope you enjoy it.

 It is important that every member of the club knows that your help is needed. A handful of dedicated volunteers cannot do it alone. We have established many committees and groups to support our mission:

 

  1. To teach the game of soccer to the youth of our community.

  2. To operate a youth soccer league to help in developing the character of the youth of our community.

  3. To foster and engage in competition for the furtherance of the above purposes.

  4. To encourage and engage in any other activities which will enhance and improve these stated purposes.

  5. To allow the youth of our community to have fun and enjoy the game of soccer.

 

Please do not wait for a personal invitation asking you to volunteer. It is nearly impossible for me or the board members to reach out to each and every one of you. Each member of our club has a talent to offer, young or old, soccer player or not. I did not think I had a talent to offer 5 years ago when I became active in the club, now I’m the president. Many of us voluntarily do this job for you and your children. Please help us help you! We cannot survive without your help.

To each of our teams, have an enjoyable, safe and winning season. To each of our members, thank you for your support.
