Greenbush Recreational Youth Soccer is open to participants ages 4 to 12

(please see age matrix for eligibility). It is a non-competitive, fun soccer

experience for local youth. The program offers organized, skilled play

without the stress of making it to the championship game. Spring season

will run from April 21st through June 16th. Games may be scheduled

on any day of the week with the majority of the games being played on

Saturdays.

Please note that many changes have been made to the age matrix. We

are now offering a 4-year-old program. This program will consist of a

25-minute skills session and then a 25-minute game. Outside of the

4-6 year-olds, your requests for teammates and coaches likely WILL

NOT be granted.

We will no longer be allowing for automatic playing up. We ask that

every player remain in their division to provide fair play for every

member of the club. Any special requests must be emailed separately

to the registrar and will be honored at the discretion of the club.

During the registration process, there is a question asking if you would

like to play in a more competitive version of your division. If there is

enough interest we will form competitive and non-competitive teams.

For the 13+ division, we will wait and see if there is an interest. I

encourage you to register your child without paying if you are interested.

We will look at the numbers and decide as soon as possible if we can

field a program for this age group.

All teams are coached by volunteers and parents are encouraged to coach.

Head coaches are currently offered the opportunity for ONE child to play

at no cost. There will be a mandatory information session before the

season begins. If you are coaching, ONE child may play for free and other

siblings at the reduced rate. Please do not submit full payment if you are

coaching (choose the pay by check option and your account will be adjusted

when teams are set and you have attended the meeting). There will be a

team commitment requirement for concessions, which each team has the

opportunity to buy out of.

The fees for this season are $100 for first child and $65 for each

additional child. There is a $2 processing fee for each family, please

register all family members at the same time so as not to incur more

than one processing fee. There will be a $10 fee added for payment not

received before March 25.

Players are provided with a team shirt and are required to have shin

guards and appropriate footwear depending on age level. Players in the

4-year-old division must wear sneakers. All others can wear rubber

molded (no metal) soccer cleats. Please be sure you are purchasing soccer

cleats and not football cleats, it is often difficult to tell the difference.

Deadline for registration is March 10, 2012.
